How to prepare?

 Following’s are the tips:

          (1)          Regular reading of two or three news papers preferably Hindu, Economic times & Indian Express

          (2)          Good periodicals like Frontline, EPW, India today, Outlook, Yojana and World Focus.

          (3)          Reading of good authored book.

          (4)          Systematic reading and making one’s own note.

          (5)          Cultivate answer writing practice by going through different book.

          (6)          Develop innovative ideas to write at least two essays a week.

Essay is our first priority because it is the game changes. It is a paying paper Interview is also no less important.

Choosing optional is also vital because it measures one’s in-depth study.

Unless a candidate has clarity of understanding of the said subject, it is difficult for one to qualify the exam. A wide spectrum of knowledge is what a requirement is. One’s answer must always stay relevant lest there is every possibility that one might lose. Planning, Preparation, and Precision are required from the candidate.

One should write precise and composed English while writing answers. Equally one should adhere to UPSC stipulations, if any.

Summarising one’s answer is also a point. One might be a well-read a person, but if he fails to assimilate, the answer becomes meaningless and goes to oblivion.
